If you make a deal with a fool, don't be surprised when they act foolishly."-Jeffrey Archer,
Isn't it true? Do we really think before every action that we take or decisions that we make?
You would agree with me when I say most of our decisions are about making people happy – whether they matter or not. And actually we are happy with it till this wonderful feeling called ‘expectation’ creeps in.
A few days ago when I was traveling I came across a few people in the train. There were these two ladies traveling and my guess goes that they were friends. I overheard their conversation and one of them was complaining about her life and things happening around. Her friend heard the entire conversation very calmly and in my head somewhere I appreciated her for her patience. After listening to the entire story her friend asked her just one question: “I believe everything that you are saying and I am sure all this really happens with you. I just want to ask you what have to done about this?” and the lady replied “what can I do? Nobody listens to me. I have to live with this.”
After that I really left track of what was the conversation later as the question kept playing in my head. What do we really do about things we don’t like? I think most of the times we keep doing it just thinking it may stop some day … It may get over one day… I will voice it next time it happens … Have done it so many times one more time… However do we really learn anything out of it?
Then a few days later I came across this – ‘For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; …’ – Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 ESV
Putting a thought to it actually … Everything in life happens for a reason and there are no coincidences. Every person in our life plays a very important role in molding us. It is our choice completely in what we do. Everything that we do will always have consequences … good or bad… The returns completely depend on the investments. I very strongly believe that Time is an absolutely magical gift we all have and time will always reveal the secrets of the nature as to why anything happened. The challenge mostly is that we are so busy cribbing about the conditions we are in, we don’t see or hear when time is revealing the secrets. Hence the learning of the situations is completely out of question too…
We all are aware of everything I just said… however we still end up doing things that are easier.. Cribbing seems better than having patience, shouting is preferred than waiting for other to finish, blaming over owning , hating over loving, walking away over staying back … Are we so weak that we cannot love people unconditionally no matter what returns we get?
I believe that if I have sown a seed of love it will grow and return love. A seed of love can never give birth to anything else but love. It’s a simple law of nature. Question is – in today’s world are the seeds of love so much in scarcity that we prefer sowing all other seeds but that of love?… No matter how much the world hates you or gives you a hard time… No doubt they are sowing the wrong seeds… however how are you returning it is what matters. These people actually mold us and when I say us I mean our soul which is unseen at the first but they create a better us.. Let’s thank such people in our life’s for bringing the best out of us and making us a better human being in all situations….
